Children's Age Policy: We specify ages with every program. We will accept registrations providing the child will attain the minimum age prior to the start of the program. Program age ranges are set to meet both the capacity of the child and the course content. 

 

Baking Bonanza

Ages 10-18 years
Have your cake and eat it too! Baking Bonanza is for anyone that wants to learn or already loves to bake. Look forward to baking cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and more!

Kids in the Kitchen

Ages 10-18 years

A great chance for youth to learn how to make easy, healthy meals! Learn kitchen safety and basic cooking skills with your friends.

Dates: Wednesdays, November 7 - December 12

Group Guitar Level 1

Ages 12-18 years

The program teaches youth the basics including chords, strumming techniques and tablature reading. You will also learn some basic songs! Please bring your own guitar.

 

Group Guitar Level 2

Ages 12-18 years

This program builds on the skills learned in Level 1 and youth will learn more complex chords, strumming patterns and songs. Please bring your own guitar.

 

Individual Music Lessons

 Ages 10-18 years

Sign up for individual music lessons on the guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, or percussion. (1/2 hour sessions)

 

Art Attack

Ages 10-18 years
This interactive art program will have youth making new creations each week. Have fun using a variety of techniques and materials to create new and exciting projects! All materials are provided

Badminton

Ages 10-13 years

Come out with your friends and learn basic badminton skills with an emphasis on fun and fitness.

 

Babysitting Training

Grade 5+

This is a course covering babysitting and child care skills, safety/injury prevention, professional conduct as a babysitter, etc. Bring a peanut free lunch and snacks. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a teddy bear or doll for diapering practice. Updated First Aid content will be covered.

At Home Alone + First Aid

Grades 5-6

This program will help you to understand why the setting of rules and following them is important for your safety when staying home on your own. Learn the importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself at home and within your community. Also, learn how to prepare, recognize, and respond to unexpected situations. Updated First Aid content will be covered.

P.A Day Adventures

Ages 4-12 years

Backpack checklist: a healthy lunch, indoor and outdoor footwear, and all the appropriate clothing for weather conditions. Please label all belongings. Registration will be held until the Wednesday prior to each date. Should required numbers not be met by this date, the program will be cancelled. Program themes will be announced closer to - stay tuned to our Ingersoll Community Services Dept. Facebook page for updates. There is no swimming on PA Day Adventure Days.

Karate Beginner

Ages 6-12 years

This course will focus on the basic physical benefits of Karate-Do along with the valuable life skills to help them succeed. Sensei Jones teaches respect and discipline in a safe, energetic environment. The style of Karate-Do studied is Go Ju-Ryu.

Aikido Pre-Teen
Ages 11-13 years

Aikido unites the elements of self-defense, physical fitness and a non-violent philosophy into a modern martial art. The emphasis is on harmonizing, neutralizing, and redirecting offensive force to your advantage. This class introduces the basic skills of Aikido in a safe and fun manner, simple Japanese terminologies will be used in class to preserve the heritage of the art.

Aikido Exercise Class

Ages 14+

This class is designed to introduce and supplement coordination exercises for the Aikido class on Saturdays. Focus is on hand and feet coordination exercises. Regular workout clothing and shoes are worn for this class. No martial art uniform is required.

Friday Night Fun

Ages 6-12 years
Friday Night Fun is a 'drop in' program. Children are signed in for ratio purposes and supervised by program staff. Snacks/Beverages are available for purchase during the program. Children are responsible for their own belongings. Children must be the minimum age to participate. Proof of age may be required. Should your child require assistance for any reason, please review with them to seek help from any assigned program staff. Weekly posts of the evenings activities are posted on our Ingersoll Community Services Dept. Facebook page. Space in each activity is limited and is filled on a first come, first served basis.

Dates: Fridays, September 14 - December 21 (NO PROGRAM ON OCTOBER 19 OR NOVEMBER 23)

PLEASE NOTE: Pool admission standards apply. For Friday Night Fun a spot in the community swim will be guaranteed for the first 32 children ages 6-9. All 6-9 year olds will be in PFD's in an 8:1 ratio to comply with provincial regulations. Parental permission forms must be signed at drop off for children 6-9 years to attempt the swim test. An unlimited amount of 10-12 year olds will be admitted. 10-12 year old will receive a green band and will be allowed to swim in the pool without a PFD. 

 

Yoga

Ages 14+

Steady posture, and breath control mixed with relaxation. Set the physical and mental foundation to tap into our fullest potential. All levels are welcome to challenge your yoga practice. Bring your own yoga mat to class

Strong Zumba

A high intensity, NO DANCE, workout where every move is synced to the beat. A music lead interval training class. Pushing you harder to give everything you can... and then some!
