For one, Council and the Community are working towards implementing the words from the pages of Ingersoll’s Strategic Plan “Ingersoll will be well known as an enriching place to live, to work, to raise a family and to pursue a high quality of life. Ingersoll will experience positive growth due to excellent management from a pro-active and effective Council.

Ingersoll will provide quality urban amenities but will preserve and maintain a small town and human scale feeling. Sustainable employment will be generated through its diverse economic base of manufacturing, retail and service as well as a newly emerging tourism industry. Investors will be drawn by the supportive business environment and the seamless support from all levels of government.”

Citizens will actively engage in ensuring a healthy and active community. Both residents and visitors will speak highly of Ingersoll’s health services, recreation, social, entertainment and cultural amenities that continually meet the growing needs of all age groups. Ingersoll’s youth will be actively participating in community life and activities not only for their own benefit but for the enjoyment of all residents.

Ingersoll will be distinctively marked by an inviting town centre that is pedestrian friendly and that showcases its architectural heritage and unique shops. The rejuvenated theater and museum and many special festivals attract both regional residents and visitors throughout the year.

Residents will live in affordable, safe, well planned neighborhoods with comprehensive services that are supported by a diverse tax base, strong community organizations and concerned residents. Ingersoll’s cultural and natural heritage, parks and open spaces will be appreciated and supported by people from all over the region.”

In addition, the Town has completed the Ingersoll Cultural Strategic Plan – “a community supported cultural strategy that ultimately will generate social and economic benefits for citizens in Ingersoll and in the surrounding area. This is an overall strategic plan that lays the foundation leading to a vibrant and healthy cultural sector with maximum participation of Ingersoll’s cultural organizations.”
